Subscribing links the laboratory's calendar to your own. New events appear automatically, and changes to a time or a room update in your calendar too — which downloading a single event does not do.

You can unsubscribe at any time from your own calendar application. We are not told who has subscribed.

TODO — the API key. The list above is read live from the calendar once calendarId and apiKey are set in the block at the foot of this page. Create the key in the Google Cloud console, enable the Google Calendar API, and restrict it by HTTP referrer to this domain — a read-only key on a public calendar is safe to ship in the page, but restrict it anyway. Until then the hand-written entries above are shown.

TODO — three values to fill in once the laboratory calendar exists, all from the same place: in Google Calendar open Settings → Settings for my calendars → [the calendar] → Integrate calendar. Take the Calendar ID for the Google link, the Public address in iCal format for the other two, and the Embed code src for the view below. The calendar must be set to public first, or none of the three will work for anyone outside the lab.

The seminar list

Meetings and seminars are announced on a mailing list. To join, send a message with the subject subscribe to the address below — there is no form and no account to make. To leave, send unsubscribe to the same address.

The list carries meeting announcements only: a few messages a term, no other mail. It is separate from the laboratory newsletter, which covers datasets, tools and published work.

TODO — the list address. University IT can create a Mailman list (something like talos-seminars@lists.uoc.gr), which is how the AUEB NLP group runs theirs and costs nothing. If that is slow to arrange, a Google Group on the new laboratory account does the same job and can be set to accept subscription by email. Replace both TODO_LIST_ADDRESS values once it exists.

The month

Calendar view

The calendar view loads from Google Opening it sends your IP address and browser information to Google, so it does not load until you ask for it. The list above needs nothing from anyone.
