We are thrilled to launch our new digital hub, marking the next chapter in our journey to advance the frontiers of Artificial Intelligence for the Humanities and Social Sciences.
The TALOS AI4SSH Lab – Artificial Intelligence for the Humanities and Social Sciences. Operating under the School of Philosophy at the University of Crete, it was born from the success of the European Commission-funded TALOS ERA Chair project. Built as the permanent institutional successor to this ambitious initiative, the Lab ensures that the project’s groundbreaking research, open datasets, and strategic vision continue to evolve.
Guided by a mission to pioneer a human-centered approach to technology by integrating the critical perspectives of the humanities into AI development, the Lab structures its work around three interconnected core areas:
- Research: Drive interdisciplinary investigation at the intersection of AI and SSH.
- Training: Committed to building capacity and upskilling the next generation of scholars.
- Outreach: Forge strategic partnerships with public institutions, private enterprises, and global academic networks to facilitate knowledge transfer.
